Susan started the Chinese Street Market to bring authentic Chinese street food to Washington, D.C. She uses local and seasonal ingredients in her traditional Chinese recipes. Susan brings joy and an incredible thoughtfulness to her fresh handmade noodles, hand-pinched dumplings and sauces. We love being her neighbor at the Bloomingdale farmer's market.

Her chili oil is our local favorite. It has a deep, savory flavor, and it brings the heat. Mix it into noodles or a cucumber salad. Use it as the base of a dipping sauce. Top your pizza. Drizzle just a touch on top of rich vanilla ice cream. The chili oil possibilities are endless.

    Producer: Chinese Street Market

    Location: Washington, D.C.

The Chinese Street Market strives to build a community that supports the preservation of Chinese culture in D.C.'s Chinatown after drastic gentrification. They hosted an actual inaugural street market in 2019 to showcase traditional food and recipes from East Asian immigrants, handed down through the generations. While they work on a second street market, they share their handmade food at farmers markets around D.C. They use seasonal produce, local meat and traditional methods.
