Some farmers grow beautiful food, some farmers grow beautiful flowers. There's no better way to finish up your farmers market shopping than with an armful of seasonal blooms! Lucky for you and us - we're now bringing the local flowers to your doorstep.

Your large spring bouquet from Greenstone Fields comes wrapped + ready for you to put it in your favorite vase. This large spring bouquet will have approximately 25 lovely stems of premium flowers, at least 15" tall. During this glorious spring season, your bouquet for Thursday 6/11 may include:

  • peonies : amazing, romantic, fragrant. this large bouquet will contain TWO peonies!
  • campanula AKA canterbury bells
  • baptisa : The native variety Baptisia australis AKA False Blue Indigo comes later in the season.  The yellows start first, and then the Midnight Prairie Blue will bloom!
  • snapdragons : This batch was overwintered, which means Greenstone Fields planted them last July, harvested them in October, cut them back to 2 inches, kept them happy during the winter. This year, they have planted many more snaps and are doing succession planting of them because they add great color and texture to their bouquets.
  • foliage

Your flowers will be tight in bud to ensure longest possible vase life. Enjoy watching your arrangement open and change shape throughout the week.

Greenstone Fields is a specialty cut flower farm located in Loudoun County. Their flowers are grown with the utmost care, with a special eye to reducing wasteful packaging. Barbara and Dennis are passionate stewards of the local flower movement and were recently awarded for their land stewardship work! We love seeing their bountiful flower display at the Falls Church Farmers Market.

Our recommendations for keeping your flowers longer lasting: cut the stems. Change the water daily - and make sure there is ENOUGH water. Recut the stems every few days. Naturally, some flowers or foliage will wilt sooner than other stems. Part of the fun of local flowers: keep cutting + rearranging your flowers throughout the week, as new flowers bloom and others fade.

At this time, we can't honor special requests for colors or flower types. We're asking farmers to send us the best flowers they have! This variety will likely change on a weekly basis, and, of course, with the seasons.
