Paw Paws - THURS
Field Update: Paw paws are foraged from native trees! That being said, there are a few cultivated varieties. (The history behind the research + commercialization around paw paw cultivation is fascinating!) For Arcadia Venture's paw paw boxes, you may get a mix of foraged + cultivated paw paws or just foraged ones - September 15
The first Paw Paws of the season are here! Paw Paws are the largest edible fruit native to North America. The flavor is a cross between a mango, banana, and citrus fruit! Very unique and delicious! Learn more about paw paws HERE.
You will receive your Paw Paws in a 1 lb box. Each box will contain approximately 3-4 paw paws.
- Use-The easiest way to enjoy this fruit is to peel the skin and consume the flesh, spitting out the seeds as you go. You can also seed the fruit, scoop out the flesh and add it to smoothies!
- Storage- Store in the fridge for 3-4 days max. Consume sooner rather than later as they are extremely perishable! Freeze the pulp for later use.
- Seasonality- available for only 1 month from mid September to mid October
You can allow the fruits to ripen 1-2 days at room temperature. These paw paws have been picked underripe to ensure they are in good condition when you receive them! You may also store in the fridge for up to 4 days MAX.
