Katie from Path Valley Farms says "EVERYONE WINS WITH RAMPS THIS WEEK!"

Small Veggie Bag from Path Valley Farm for Saturday 4/25:

  • 1 bunch of wild ramps: garlicky, springtime super premium foraged specialty! no matter what's happening in the world, every spring, ramps spring from the earth!
  • 1/2 lb mix greens: ever changing mix of mizuna, tatsoi, red/green kale, red/green mustard, scarlet frills, beet greens, and some sylvetta.
  • small bag of pea shoots: crown your rice, egg, and kimchi with some frilly fancy greens! approximately 2 ounces.
  • 1 greenhouse cucumber: greenhouse grown + ready for hummus
  • 1 red tomato: why just one precious tomato?! the tomato plants are slowly starting to produce in greenhouses. as the days get longer, the plants will grow quicker and there will be more tomatoes!
  • bag of African blue basil: did you see our blog post about using this amazing basil to make pesto?! do you need single source olive oil, for making pesto?!

Medium Veggie Box from Path Valley Farm for Saturday 4/25:

  • small bag of pea shoots: IT'S SPRING :D approximately 2 ounces.
  • 1/2 lb mix greens: ever changing mix of mizuna, tatsoi, red/green kale, red/green mustard, scarlet frills, beet greens, and some sylvetta.
  • 2 lbs potatoes: Eva variety! roast em + eat with our sauerkraut
  • 1 red tomato: why just one tomato?! in the greenhouse, the tomato plants are slowly starting to produce. as the days get longer, the plants will grow quicker and there will be more tomatoes!
  • 1 lb beets: red + gold beets! for beet pickling inspo, look no further...
  • 1 cucumber: this greenhouse cucumber is ready for your salad or hummus.
  • herb plant: 4" potted plant. your plant will be parsley, sage, rosemary, or thyme. sorry if you're humming along with Paul Simon, but we CANNOT honor herb requests.

Happy Family Veggie Box from Path Valley Farm for Saturday 4/25:

  • !BONUS! edible mustard flowers: these wild mustard flowers will look beautful as a bouquet in the middle of your kitchen table. Or, stir fry them quickly with some alliums. Feeling adventurous? Here's some ideas for wild mustard flowers.
  • 1 bunch ramps: garlicky, springtime super premium foraged specialty! no matter what's happening in the world, every spring, ramps spring from the earth!
  • 1 lb mix greens: ever changing mix of mizuna, tatsoi, red/green kale, red/green mustard, scarlet frills, beet greens, and some sylvetta.
  • small bag of pea shoots: crown your rice, egg, and kimchi with some frilly fancy greens! approximately 2 ounces.
  • 1/2 lb ~wild~ greens: *not pictured* watercress, dandelion or stinging nettle. and of these greens are part of an easy and healthy springtime soup/tonic and if you've got a blender, a couple of potatoes, and some garlic then you have soup! 
  • 1 bunch spring radishes: you can even add some of the radish tops to your pesto if you like it extra earthy!
  • pint of small tomatoes: these mixed tomatoes were grown in a greenhouse, the first of the year!
  • 2 cucumbers: greenhouse grown + ready for your salads!
  • 3 lbs potatoes - Eva variety! Ready for roasting :)
  • 3 lbs beets - medium/large size. roast em, pickle em. Maybe make kvass if you're feeling extra adventurous?!
  • 2 lbs sunchokes wondering WTH is a sunchoke? so were we! so we wrote this blog post about sunchokes AKA Jerusalem artichokes.
