Path Valley Farms - May 16 Lineup

We know, we know, we've been saying this for a few weeks now! The colder weather in PA means that spring (and certain vegetables) will be slower to arrive!

This week, Katie from Path Valley Farms says "This is the last week or two of ramps. EVERYONE WINS WITH RAMPS THIS WEEK!" and "It's cold and wet here in Pennsylvania.

Also ramps are actually looking better and better so I think we will have them another two weeks!  The cold weather kept them nice...Spring has not sprung up here, yet! We continue to hope for some sunshine and heat to stir the asparagus out of the ground. Just one or two more weeks."

Here's the lineup from Path Valley Farms for May 16 delivery:

HAPPY FAMILY VEGGIE BOX

  • 2 bunches of foraged ramps: garlicky, springtime super premium foraged specialty! no matter what's happening in the world, every spring, ramps spring from the earth! This week's ramps might have a few sun spots! Be ready to use all the bulbs! Maybe, not all the greens!
  • 3/4 lb mix greens: ever changing mix of mizuna, tatsoi, red/green kale, red/green mustard, scarlet frills, beet greens, and some sylvetta. This week's mix will be heavy on the pea shoots!
  • a bunch of spring onions: *not in the photo* they should be perfect in one week :)
  • a bunch of spring radishes: Easter Egg or French Breakfast or Red Rover radish variety!
  • a bunch spring garlic: allium bliss starts in spring.
  • 2 red tomatoes: in the greenhouse, the tomato plants are slowly starting to produce. as the days get longer, the plants will grow quicker and there will be more tomatoes!

  • a zuchinni: This is the first and likely the last of the greenhouse zucchinis. We won't have it again until field crop is ready
