Path Valley Farms - June 13 Lineup

Happy Spring / Happy almost Summer! It's getting warmer, even further north in Pennsylvania. The strawberry plants got enough warmth and sunshine to grow! As it gets warmer, we'll see asparagus and strawberries make way for summery vegetables!

Here's the lineup from Path Valley Farms for delivery on Saturday 6/13!

SMALL VEGGIE BAG

  • 1/2 lb mix greens: ever changing mix of mizuna, tatsoi, red/green kale, red/green mustard, scarlet frills, beet greens, and some sylvetta. heavy on the pea shoots this week!
  • 1 bunch asparagus: store in a jar of water in your fridge for freshest asparagus when you're ready to cook! approximately 1/2 lb.

  • 1 pint cherry tomatoes: the tastiest greenhouse tomatoes we've ever had.

  • 1 pint strawberries: delicious. just here for a few weeks :) wash right before eating! soaking in water can degrade berry quality.

MEDIUM VEGGIE BOX

  • 1/2 lb mix greens: ever changing mix of mizuna, tatsoi, red/green kale, red/green mustard, scarlet frills, beet greens, and some sylvetta.
  • !not in photo! small bag of pea shoots: these tendrils are great for toast. approximately 2 ounces.
  • 2 mini heads of lettuce: mini lettuce wrap time! try making bo ssam - we can also supply the kimchi + mushrooms (try that in place of pork).
  • 2 lbs English shell peas: shelling spring peas is welcome kitchen meditation. save the pods to add to your veggie stock!
  • 1 bunch of rainbow baby carrots (approximately 1 lb)
  • 1 bunch of radishes
  • a bunch of asparagus: store in a jar of water in your fridge for freshest asparagus when you're ready to cook! approximately 1/2 lb.
  • 1 bunch of spring onions or shallots: aliums make us :) too many for you to garnish and cook with? throw some on the grill or wilt them in your pan to add to your dinner plate!

HAPPY FAMILY VEGGIE BOX

  • 3/4 lb mix greens: ever changing mix of mizuna, tatsoi, red/green kale, red/green mustard, scarlet frills, beet greens, and some sylvetta.
  • 3 mini lettuce: mini lettuce wrap time! try making bo ssam - we can also supply the kimchi + mushrooms (try that in place of pork).
  • small bag of pea shoots: not too much longer for this springtime specialty! approximately 2 ounces.
  • 2 bunches of Italian dandelion or chard: your cooking greens this week! dandelion is a great bitter green! incorporate into salad or create a bitter dish for your table. read our post about dandelion here!
  • 1 bunch Hakurei turnips: these turnips are also be great for you bo ssam spread - chopped up fresh or pickled! try quick pickling them in equal parts vinegar + water.
  • 1 bunch of rainbow baby carrots (approximately 1 lb)
  • 1 quart of mixed baby tomatoes: the tastiest greenhouse tomato we've had!
  • 2 lbs English shell peas: shelling spring peas is welcome kitchen meditation. save the pods to add to your veggie stock!
